Daffodils and cherries

There's a field near our house that I'd pass by most days and, for a long time, every year they'd grow daffodils in the field. Once they'd reached full bloom, the field was just a wash with these beautiful, bright yellow flowers.
Only on special occasions will I purchase flowers myself but my wife often likes to pick some up. She would also get inspired by this field of yellow as, around that time of year, daffodils would become a mainstay about the house. The field isn't used for growing daffodils any more but we still grow some in the garden and wife is still partial to picking a few bunches every Spring time so I'm sure they'll continue to be an inspiration for many paintings to come.
Acrylic on board, 27 x 18 cm original painting complete with a custom, hand-made, wood frame (in a light grey finish) and a single mount with groove.

Francis Boag
Born and educated in Dundee, Francis maintained his painting career alongside a successful teaching career before leaving education in the early noughties and becoming a full-time, professional artist.
Since then, Francis has worked steadily to establish himself as one of the leading figures in a generation of ‘Scottish Colourists’, with his expressionist interpretations of landscapes and interiors appearing in some of the most prominent Galleries and Collections throughout Scotland and beyond.
